Your home insurance will stipulate expectations to satisfy your insurance policy. Following your sweep, Matt will issue a professional Institute of Chimney Sweep certificate recognised by all insurance companies. 

We recommend the following as a guide to sweeping your chimneys:

Smokless Coals: Once a year
Wood: Twice a year when in use
Bitumous Coal: Twice a year
Oil: Once a year
Gas: Once a year
Thatched Roofs: Twice a year

Chimney sweeping:

Whether it is an open fire, wood or multi fuel burning stove, gas fire or an oil fired cooker, all flues need sweeping to clear them of any build up of soot and potential fire risk. We sweep all chimneys.

We use traditional rod and brushes and the latest rotary power sweeping methods depending on the type of appliance.

Bird nest removal: 

Birds like to nest in chimneys. If there is a nest then the chimney will not be able to function, rendering the fire unusable and unsafe. We can remove a nest in a safe and controlled manor and clean the chimney after. This will allow the fire to be used once again.
